We arrived in St Louis, Missouri and got set up at our campground. (We are heading out west in our RV.)

We decided to camp in the city of St Louis so that we could be close to the two things we had on our to do list. St. Louis was certainly an interesting part to our week.

My husband has been to St Louis several times and ventured out to do things. I have only ever been in STL for short overnights while I was flying, so I had never been out to see anything.

Bradley had discovered the City Museum and we had talked of making a special trip up to explore this place because he liked it so much.

City Museum in St Louis Missouri is a great place to have fun, get some exercise and spend time together as a family. We were able to park near the Museum in a lot for $10 for the full day.

Before you go to the museum, I recommend you wear comfortable shoes. My son is always wearing flip flops, and while he did ok… I wonder how much more fun he might have had if he had worn tennis shoes.  I did not take my purse and was wondering how to keep up with my key, phone, money…. If I had known they have personal locker rentals I would likely have taken my purse in and left  it in there. Or I might have carried a small backpack type purse. Also little girls wearing tutu skirts might get some comfort in wearing bloomers or shorts underneath. I am a bit of a germaphobe. When the kids crawl around on the floor in my brain we immediately have strep throat and are all sick for weeks.  Thankfully this was not the case.

We went on a warm crowded sunny day. I imagine there are times when there aren’t quite so many people, but the place is massive… so it really isn’t a problem. And maybe the reason I say it really isn’t a problem is because there were no mid-30s moms in front of me holding me up… I was that mom.

City Museum in St Louis Missouri is a great place to have fun, get some exercise and spend time together as a family. There are climbing areas/slides that are outside. So while you can go on a rainy day and just plan to stay inside… I really recommend you go on a pretty day so that you can really make the most of your visit.

There is an option for going up on the roof top. The roof looks like it must be a lot of fun. There is a school bus sticking off the side of the building, and even a ferris wheel up there. You will have to pay more for roof top access. We did not make it to the roof top and had plenty to do. You can spend all day having a blast without ever going up there. And you can also go back and add the roof top access later if you decide it is something you really want to do.

City Museum in St Louis Missouri is a great place to have fun, get some exercise and spend time together as a family. There are snack bars and restaurants all throughout the place. Which is wonderful. After playing for a few hours you work up an appetite. (Also, lots of restrooms.)

You do not have to be in the best shape of your life to go. I saw a woman walking her grand daughter over to a spot to play so that she could see her. I saw a grand father walking with a cane trying his best to keep up with his kiddos. I was the mom watching from down below on a couple of climbs that just looked too crazy for me. I did a lot of climbing and had a lot of fun playing. If you are looking to go and play or are wanting to stand back at watch the antics you will be able to do either. After our awesome visit at City Museum we took a short trip to the St. Louis Arch. You can guess which one my kids were more impressed with. So, if you happen to be in St. Louis I recommend that you see the Arch of course… but don’t dare miss the City Museum.
